Monkeyland sits up in the hills of Anamuya, about forty minutes inland, and the drive alone is worth the ticket: sugar cane, small farms and mountains instead of hotel walls.

Inside the reserve the squirrel monkeys roam free. Keepers hand you a bit of food, explain the rules, and the monkeys do the rest — usually by climbing straight onto your shoulders. Everything happens at their pace, with no cages and no performances.

Afterwards you walk the plantation trail to see cacao, coffee, vanilla, sugar cane and tropical fruit growing where they belong, with a tasting at the end. The last stop is a typical Dominican house, where a local family shows how people in the countryside actually live.

Guests staying in Cap Cana meet us at the Cap Cana Information Center, next to the main security gate. At most hotels we pick you up at the security gate, not the lobby.

Staying in an Airbnb or a residential area? Walk to the nearest hotel gate or to one of our meeting points and we will take it from there. You can also drive straight to the ranch if you prefer.

You receive your exact pickup time and spot the night before. Pickup usually happens one hour before your tour, up to an hour and a half in high season or for hotels farther out.

Please be at your pickup point ten minutes early. The driver calls your name three times; if nobody answers it counts as a no-show, which is non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
